OK. There is currently a 2 foot drop from our back door to the ground (Michael ripped out our old deck). The drop was never a problem because the kids wait for help to get up or down. One day though Ashlyn was standing at the back door (in the house) and Michael opened the door to the garage. A huge gust of wind came through the house which made the back door swing shut, pushing Ashlyn straight out the door. There was a little piece of metal still attached to the house from the old deck and it sliced right through her little cheek. Michael cleaned it up a bit, but knew she would need stitches and took her to the ER (I stayed here with Lincoln) and they gave her 10 stitches. They did some x-rays to make sure nothing had gotten inside of her (there wasn't anything) and let her watch cartoons, gave her a little teddy bear, 2 stickers, and a popsicle! She had a great time . . . except for when they were numbing her up. They had 4 people plus dad holding her for that part.
Waiting & watching cartoons!
After they numbed the cut on her left cheek.
Waiting & watching cartoons!
