Lee Family Reunion

I really need to get to bed, but I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful week we just had. On Tuesday we headed up to Estes Park for Michael's family reunion. His mom passed away 9 years ago, and the reunion is for her parents and their posterity. It's so wonderful to spend time with his mother's family. First of all, we got to hang out with Michael's sister Shannah, her husband Eric, and their 2 kids Dylan and Duncan. They have lived in Oregon for about 3 years, we haven't seen them for as long, and with Ashlyn being 4, this is the first time she really knows that they are her cousins. I just loved watching Dylan with Ashlyn & Lincoln - even though she is older than them (she'll be in 3rd grade this year) she was really hanging out with them and I know that Ashlyn especially loved spending time with her. It was fun to watch Duncan with his dad and boy cousins too (he'll be in 1st grad this year). We enjoyed good laughs with Eric & Shannah and can I just say that Shannah is one hot momma?!

We haven't seen Michael's sister Kristen for a long time and we just love her to pieces. She is such a special girl - SO full of LOVE. So beautiful, so kind, so sincere. We miss living closer to her.

Michael got to see his aunt Janet for the first time in years. She was one of his mom's closest sisters and it was so nice to talk to her, catch up, learn of the wonderful things that have happened in her life, and learn more about Michael's mom, Karen. I got to meet his cousin Melissa (Janet's oldest daughter) and her beautiful family and I just love her. She reminds me of Kristen - so full of love and goodness.

There are many more of his wonderful family that we spent time with and we loved every minute of it. Thanks Dave for planning such a great reunion, and thanks Grandpa & Grandma Lee for having such an amazing family! We love them all!!
